We are excited to introduce our new Co-Head Coach Paul Duron!

2-time Olympic coach, (and the owner of West Valley), Mark Young has been coaching as we searched the country for our new Co – Head Coach.  We have found him.  Paul Duron has joined our coaching staff as of Tuesday September 2^nd.  Paul has been coaching at Kips Gymnastics Academy in Southern California for over 8 years.  . Prior to Kips he served as a Team coach for 4 years (2003 to 2007) at the Southern California Elite Gymnastics Academy (SCEGA). While at SCEGA, he coached over 30 gymnasts to State titles on Vault and Bars.  In 2007, Paul trained and qualified both Jordan Williams and Megan Jiminez to U.S. Challenge as Pre-Elites where both placed in top six on Vault and Bars. He also helped qualify Ashley Stott to U.S. Classic where she placed 4th on Vault and qualified to Visa Championships in Junior International Division.  In addition he had 4 athletes qualify to level 10 Nationals in 2007.

“It is my hope and desire to help foster an environment that will challenge athletes to achieve their fullest potential through the sport of gymnastics, while learning important life lessons such as discipline, commitment, passion, respect, and fair play. I believe that quality coaching and consistent standards of expectations across all Levels of gymnastics  is the foundation for success.  I look forward to being a part of the West Valley coaching Team.”
